Description:
Star Forge

A new megastructure. The Star Forge allows the conversion of large ammounts of energy into minerals, by tapping into the gas reserves of its host star. Sadly it can’t automatically produce ships, but it looks damn cool.

Construction info:

Stage 0 (construction site):
1800 days
20000 minerals

Stage 1: (Main hub)
1800 days
20000 minerals

Stage 2: (1/4th complete)

Stage 3: (2/4th complete)
1800 days

Maintenace: 600 energy.
Production: 360 minerals

Stage 4: (3/4th complete)

Production: 500 minerals

Stage 5: (complete)

20000 minerals

Maintenace: 1200 energy.

Build costs are pending fine tuning. Total cost is 120,000 minerals, at 500 minerals per month its payoff is 20 years.

I based my balance on Improved Megastructures which makes megastructures more meaningful given the time and resource investment. Its one-fourth of a full dyson sphere (1200 energy). It’s simple enough to edit the file yourself to change the output to an appropriate balance.

Also be sure to check my other mod Stellar Catalyst which pairs alongside this.

Balance

This mod is balanced in conjunction with a future mod I plan on releasing.

Rebalancing the files are as easy as editing a .txt file inside a zip file, so users are more than welcome to adjust it to their liking. Individual mod collections benefit from different balance levels so feel free to experiment!

Compatibility

No base files were modified and no dependencies are required. This mod should be compatible with everything.
