Autonomous fleet hunting for Stellaris.
Stop micromanaging long wars — let your fleets do the chasing.

Pls rate and/or favorite if u like it yes yes 😀

What It Does

Adds an "Enable Search & Destroy" toggle to every military fleet’s panel.
Once active, the fleet locates the closest valid enemy fleet each month and moves to engage — automatically and continuously until you disable it.

No more babysitting individual fleets across the galaxy during a 50-year war. Set them loose, check in occasionally, win.

Features

  • Per-fleet toggle — each fleet has its own setting, not an empire-wide switch
  • "Hunter Protocol" modifier on active fleets so you can see at a glance which ones are hunting
  • Per-fleet configurable filters (click the settings button on a fleet):
    • War-Only Targeting — hunt only fleets of empires you’re at war with
    • Avoid Stronger Fleets — skip enemies with higher fleet power
    • Avoid Dangerous Systems — skip systems with another stronger hostile fleet
    • Avoid Defended Starbases — skip systems with hostile starbases
    • Toggle Toasts Per Fleet — control notifications when fleets find new targets
    • Friendly Systems Only — restrict hunting grounds
  • Auto-standby — with War-Only on and your empire at peace, the fleet enters a greyed standby state and auto-resumes when war returns. No re-toggling.
  • Engagement notifications — get a popup when a fleet picks its first target. Cooldown logic prevents spam during long travel.

Recent Update: Bulk Toggling & Pursuit Overhaul

NEW: Fleet Manager
Click the MGR button on the fleet panel to open the Fleet Manager — a single window listing every military fleet you own with its current Search & Destroy state. Click any entry to toggle that fleet. The fastest way to enable or disable S&D across many fleets at once, and the definitive source for verifying which fleets are actively hunting.

NEW: Stick to Target Filter
A per-fleet filter that, when enabled, keeps the hunter on its current target until it is killed or lost — no more random target switching at every system jump. Off by default.

IMPROVED: True Fleet Pursuit
Hunters actively follow their target fleet across systems. If the target jumps, the hunter follows. If the target dies, the order cancels cleanly and the hunter looks for a new mark.

IMPROVED: Filter Checks During Pursuit
Avoid Stronger Fleets, Avoid Dangerous Systems, Avoid Defended Starbases, and Friendly Systems Only now re-evaluate as the hunter moves through systems — not just at the moment of target selection.

IMPORTANT: Multi-Select Behavior
The per-fleet toggle and filter buttons on the fleet panel apply only to the focused fleet, even when multiple fleets are selected. To toggle many fleets at once, or to verify exactly which fleets are hunting, use the Fleet Manager (MGR button).

There’s a lot more — descriptions have a length limit.

Compatibility

Vanilla — works standalone, no other mods required.

Save games — safe to add or remove mid-save. Custom flags become inert if the mod is later disabled.

Multiplayer — deterministic on_action logic, no random-scope leaks. Safe for co-op as long as both players have the same mod set. NullSync[github.com] (optional but helpful) verifies mod-set parity between players.

Ironman & Achievements — disables Steam achievements while active.

The mod auto-loads in your Stellaris game language — no settings needed. 😀

Translations outside English are machine-assisted with technical/gaming context. They’re accurate for UI text but native speakers may find phrasing they would polish. Corrections welcome via Workshop comments — every report goes into the next update.

Technical Notes

Built for Stellaris 4.3.x.

Only one vanilla file is overridden:

interface/fleet_view.gui

(just to add the buttons). All scripted content lives in mod-specific namespaces, so the mod can be removed cleanly.
