Description:

Did you ever look at a ringworld and say "I want to build one but I don’t want to wait decades"? Well, now you can get a sweet compromise going instead! Planetary Ringworlds lets you build a 16 tile ringworld around any planet you happen to have laying around!

Each ringworld built has the same color scheme that a regular ringworld would have, so you can stun your neighbors in a "I’m rich enough to build a planetary ringworld but not rich enough to build a real one" way!

Empires with access to special alternate planet types (machine worlds, hive worlds, ecumenopoli) can build new planetary ringworlds that mimic those worlds, or you can terraform them back and forth between all of the variants, if you have the right technology/ascension perk.

Details:

Each ringworld has:

  • 16 tiles
  • Access to all the districts you’d expect from a normal planet (yes, they can mine, unlike habitats and normal ringworlds. They’re just really bad at it).
  • Whatever bonuses you’d expect from that particular variant.

Each ringworld requires:

  • Voidborn
  • Galactic Wonders
  • 7,500 alloys
  • 250 influence
  • 7.5 years
  • Any planet, as long as it’s not a gas giant or a minor planetary body.
Terraforming

To terraform a planetary ringworld you need either Climate Restoration or the appropriate ascension perk. They cost the following to terraform.

  • 10,000 energy
  • 20 years
  • Climate Restoration or the perk for the variant you want to terraform to
Credits:

This mod was inspired by the ringworld around Earth in KoldPhire and Greatexperiments’ Advanced Sol, because I too wanted a small ringworld (but I wanted one everywhere). Neither of us could have done it without Ringworld Cluster, where Nikkle developed the idea of small ringworlds and put it up as a modder’s resource.

Russian localisation was provided by SRPSKI DOBROVOLJIC

Compatibility:

This mod should be compatible with most other mods; I only overwrite the trigger event for the Abandoned Terraforming event chain so that it doesn’t cause any funkiness. However, there are mods out there that are incompatible (such as mods that get rid of Voidborn or Mega-Engineering). If you run into a mod that is incompatible and there’s no patch, tell me and I’ll see what I can do.
