Marauders in action

Mod adds some life to marauders space.
– Expansion –
Marauders occupies neighbor systems slowly.
1. it starts with asteroid bases first with more of them over time
2. guarding fleet appears
3. starbase is built causing borders expansion
4. some dwellings appear
Speed of expansion depends on total amount of marauders resources, system attractiveness and game difficulty
The same for fleet strength, chance to build a new starbase or attack a neighbor system
– Adaption –
Marauders co-exist with nearby space creatures considering them as totem animal and sharing systems with them. Their ship designs reflect that by having "flavored" equipment and weapon:
– Drones flavor: incline to lasers and missiles, improved auto-repair
– Crystals flavor: crystal weapons and armor
– Amoebas flavor: amoeba strikecraft, a bit more missiles and shield hardener
– Clouds flavor: cloud weapon and disruptors
– Ether Dragons: dragon armor and PD weapon, armor hardener and autorepair
If totem creatures spend quite amount of time in marauder space, more enhanced ship designs are added.
Ships are not updated all at once, just some may get new design randomly
– Extortion –
Marauder presence affects neighbor systems by reducing local happiness and productivity and affecting trade outcome. They may even attack nearby weak systems. That happens usually when they have no space to expand, so occurs in mid-game mostly. Keep your border guarded and they will not dare to enter.
Mod doesn’t change vanilla files and is compatible with everything. It uses vanilla marauders countries and ship designs though, so need them untouched.
Mod is compatible with Ether Dragons – marauders can be friendly to dragons too
