Description:
Shellworlds

Have you ever wanted to encase your precious planet into something shiny, but an orbital ring wasn’t enough?

How about you simply build a shell around your whole planet?

What does this mod add?
This mod adds four new technologies: Shellworlds, Upgraded Shellworlds, Matrioshka Worlds and Pressurized Shellworlds, which allow you to build these.

Shellworlds
To unlock the Shellworlds Technology, you need to have researched both Anti-Gravity Engineering and Construction Templates. The technology will appear randomly in your engineering research then.

A shellworld around your planet will increase its amount of districts by 50% and will grant a minor engineering research boost.

If you upgrade your shellworld, which means adding layer upon layer of minerals and soils, your planet will have additional +10 farming and +10 mining districts, as well as +50% housing.

To complete your precious, shiny shellworld with optional mineral and soil layers, you need to have researched Planetary Resurfacing as well as Terrestial Sculpting so that the Upgraded Shellworld Technology can appear for your scientists.

A shellworld can be constructed like any other megastructure via construction ship on any of your inhabited planets.

Matrioshka Worlds
After having researched both shellworld technologies, you can get the research option to construct Matrioshka Worlds, aka 2+ shells around a planet. To construct a double Shellworld, simply build it via construction ship -> megastructure around your already existing one. Same goes for triple shells.

A double shellworld increases its planet’s district capabilities by 150%, with an additional 150% Housing if upgraded.

A triple shellworld increases its planet’s districts by 300%, +300% Housing if upgraded as well.

Gas Giant Shellworlds
Having researched the shellworlds technology, chances are that the Pressurized Shellworlds Tech appears as an engineering technology.

Gas Giant Shellworlds are built as megastructures, like matrioshka worlds, but on a gas giant instead.

Ederspheres
Having researched the Pressurized Shellworlds technology as well as Mega-Engineering, chances are that the Edersphere Tech appears as an engineering technology.

Ederspheres/Ederbubbles are the biggest megastructure in this mod at the moment; they offer roughly the same amount of districts as three Ringworld sections combined to one planet, as well as more housing than a normal Ring section.

I heavily recommend using UI Overhaul along with this mod as gas giant shellworlds have six different districts on them.
