Description:

TL;DR: Buildings now sort themselves.

About
In previous versions of Stellaris, buildings automatically sorted themselves by type. For example, when you built a Research Lab, the new Research Lab automatically sorted itself next to other Research Labs. Your Research Labs would be next to your Research Labs, your Administrative Offices would be next to your Administrative Offices, and so on.

This mod restores that functionality.

Now whenever you construct a building, it’ll automatically sort itself based on a pre-scripted hierarchy. You can see the pinned thread below for an explanation of how buildings organize themselves.

See the before and after screenshots in the image gallery for a visualization of how this works.

Compatibility
This mod overwrites the vanilla building files. Any mod that does the same will have compatibility issues. This mod should be loaded after vanilla enhancement mods like Starnet and before overhaul mods.

This mod only sorts vanilla buildings. Modded buildings will not reorganized unless the mod author sets position priorities for these modded buildings.

This mod sorta works mid-save. Existing buildings will not be reordered, but new buildings should follow the hierarchy defined in the game files.

You should be able to remove this mod mid-save without issue, but I make no guarantees.

Credits
I used the Ariphaos Unofficial Patch as a base. I believe he borrowed changes from Starnet for his mod, so credit goes to both mod authors. You do not need either of these mods to play this one.

The numbers shown on the building icons are from Tier Numbers: Buildings, which I highly recommend.

Anyone is welcome to use these file changes in their own mods. Credit is encouraged.
