Centuries ago, Humanity escaped the gravity well of Earth. Unknown was that they were cut off from the galaxy at large.
Soon, they realized they were stuck. A message on Mars prompted Unification, but with nowhere to go, the Sol system was developed. Infrastructure went up, planets and moons colonized to feed the ever-growing population. Uploading became commonplace as physical space ran out. Digital space was only limited by the energy they had.
But too soon, they reached the limit. With more people being born every day, and space running out, they turned to Sol for the answer. Planning a massive structure to house them and the Uploaded, they set about building a Matrioshka Brain, capable of supporting thousands of millions of individuals within its circuitry.
Now, Humanity stands at the start of an era. Will they be able to leave their system before their limited food supply runs out? Will they Upload enough to postpone the pressure of leaving in search of more planets?
