Description:

The Belt mod for Stellaris version 2.3 (Wolfe)

About the mod:

Have you ever wondered why you should have your first colony lightyears from home? Well this mod is the awnser, you can colonize asteroids and cold barren planets after terraforming them so that they can sustain life. This is the perfect way to start your journy as a multiplanetary spacefaring species.

Do you want even more content, check out District Overhaul, it adds additional district types to all planets from vanilla Stellaris, Planetary Diversity, Real Space New Frontiers and of course The Belt.

Please rate the mod and if you have any feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Latest updates:
  • Added a decision to add an terraforming modifier to asteroids, so that you can find them in the expansion planner.
  • Added two new starting systems, where your home is an asteroid colony.

Mod features:
  • Adds the possibility to terraform asteroids to habitable asteroids (terraform tech requiered)
(If you don’t like the terraforming system, her is the mod without it:
    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1605941695 )
  • Changed the tier of the terraform tech, so that you can start terraforming earlier
  • Adds the possibility to colonize habitable asteroids
  • Adds a new life support system building restricted to the asteroids that add habitability
  • Adds a species trait which grants +45% asteroid habitability at game start (costs 1 point and 1 pick)
  • Adds a fully functioning environment portrait to asteroids
  • Adds three districts to asteroids (Living Quarters, Asteroid Mines, Leisure District)
  • Adds multiple buildings for asteroids (and Luna and habitable cold barren planets)
  • Adds an "Asteroid Miners" ascension perk
  • Increases the colonization speed of asteroids.
  • Adds the "Sol Asteroid" starting system, it is more detailed then the regular one and includes Ceres and Eros as habitable asteroids. Also Mars, Luna and Ganymede are colonizable (Luna and Ganymede have custom districts)
  • Adds an Sol System, where Earth is nuked and you start on Ceres (only for regular empires)
  • Adds an randomized starting system, where you start on an asteroid (only for regular empires)
  • Adds a terraforming possibility to cold barren planets, so that they can be colonized

Updating all modfeatures is not finished yet, so expect some more updates. Also I will add some more origenal content.

The mod should work with 2.2 without problems, but still is a work in progress.
I have not tested it for compatibility with some other mods, but it should work with all mods, that don’t change:
00_urban_districts
02_rural_districts
00_soc_tech

This mod is Real Space compatible.

Here is a compatibility patch:

If you use District Diversity you won’t need a compatibility patch.

It adds compatibility for:
Planetary Diversity
PJs :: Beltalowda : Asteroid and Moon Bases

In case you use Bigger Colonys use this compatibility mod instead:
