Description:

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." – Clarke’s Third Law

"Any sufficiently analyzed magic is indistinguishable from technology." – Niven’s Law, corrolary to Clarke’s third law.

What would a materialist do in response to encountering extrasensory abilities? Analyze the $#!~ out of them!

In short, what this does is allow materialist empires to research psionics if one of the following are true (additions marked by *)
1. Society researcher has the Expertise: Psionics trait
2. Society researcher has the Maniacal Trait * (Because being a little crazy is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be… unnatural.)
3. Society researcher has the Curator Trait * (Because they’ve been around the galaxy long enough to know it’s not all crazy-talk)
4. One or more empire pops has the Psionic or Latent Psionic traits.
5. Per request, society researcher has either the Psionic trait, for scenarios where you might get ahold of one via immigration, mods, or whatever. (Because scientists are people too! )
6. Society researcher is the Chosen One, for scenarios where mods are really nice to you. (Because if you’ve hired Space Jesus, he just might be able to figure out his own magic tricks.)
