Are you among those who feel that having worlds that are perfect for your species being a mere jump or two away from your homeworld immersion breaking and unrealistic?

Well i’ve got a pretty simple fix right here! This simply gets rid of the guaranteed chance for optimal worlds spawning around your homeworld. Replacing them with regular star systems which may or may not still spawn colonizable worlds (Even those perfect for your species!).

This restores the classic 4x feel of never knowing what treasures (or horrors..) may lie in wait just the next system over while making things a little more difficult for both AI and Player.

(On that note, i’d suggest playing with the habital planets slider at 1.5+ which I’ve found to be have an almost identical feel to early game vanilla, though I’ve had no issues with the standard settings, but be prepared to a slightly slower start. But at this setting i’ve found most games still play with an early-game development rate very similar to vanilla despite the removal of all those juicy worlds near the homeworld. Which further adds to the mystery as to why the devs still insist on keeping this unimmersive balance handicap to begin with..)

-COMPATIBILITY-

(This should be fairly compatible with just about anything that doesn’t edit the
"empire_initializers"
"custom_starting_initializers"
or
"prescripted_species_systems"
Files)

Real Space 3.1 – NOW COMPATIBLE

-CREDITS-

Anthony’s original mod, which did the trick (except for prescripted systems) but seemed to have been abandoned and wasn’t updated for 2.0.

Pode, who brought us the excellent Primitive Players 2.0 mod, for giving me the initiative to go out and make this mod.
