Description:

Release Version is now out!. If you want a clean switch in a running game, I have updated this beta: The next time you start, you will be asked if you want to uninstall it. If you do so and save the game afterwards (best with backup) you can then disable the beta in the launcher and activate the new version without leftovers from the beta.

Ever had the problem that early game was way to hard and either you die early, or the game becomes boring very soon afterwards? Or do you think the game is too hard/easy in general and the player would deserve some bonuses/penalties? Or do you want stronger Fallen Empires. Or you want to reduce resource overflow in late game? Or, or, or…

Then this mod if for you!

Features

1. Choosing either of the Vanilla pre-defined difficulties in mid-game. Mod can even be installed mid-game
2. Adds a pre-defined "Easy" difficulty with player bonuses.
3. Has a correctly working "Scaling" difficulty, that actually increases with time rather than decreasing.
4. Is fully customizeable. You can change 12 different types of bonuses in 4 empire categories (Default AI, Player, FE+AE, rest) to a precision of 1% (10% for player) and in a range from -1023% to + 1023% (-200% to 200% for player).
5. Allows locking of the customized difficulty for MP (Troll prevention) or other reasons. Unlock via sub-mod.

IMPORTANT

– I suggest using Stellaris 2.0.2 (now out of beta)! The mod works with previous patches but the difficulty would add up to what you defined on game start. If you start a new game in 2.0.1. and want to use this mod, choose "normal" difficulty on game start to prevent this adding up. The reason for this difference, is that difficulty is overhauled in 2.0.2 (though badly IMHO), which inspired me to do this mod.
– Can now be started via Mod Menu.
– Alternatively, the menu is started via a Country Edict.
– If you have problems with yearly lag, please try the two sub-mods http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1340760230 and http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1340253339. Both should strongly reduce this. Read the description as to what they do.

Compatibility

– Can be added into a running game. You need to wait 1 day in this case before being able to open the menu.
– Removing should be possible (resetting to difficulty set when starting the game).
– Should have very few conflicts with other mods. Only overwrites vanilla difficulty settings
– (Obviously) Not Achievement compatible.
