You always wanted to roleplay a patriarchal or matriarchal society, then this mod helps you to do this. This mod lets you set the allowed gender in your leader classes. You want for example only female/male leaders or only female governors and male generals? No problem, Simple Gender Editor can do this. Depending on the rules you set in the menu, this mod will automatically change the gender of your current and new leaders and rename the changed leaders randomly. The portraits of your current leaders may not change immediately, but will change after reloading your savegame. New recruited leaders and leaders in your leader pool always have the proper portrait.

You can access the menu with Simple Gender Editor edict or with console command "event sge.1".
You can hide the edict in the menu but this is not recommended in an ironman game, because you can’t use the console.

No vanilla files are changed or replaced and this mod should be compatible with most mods including leader, species and dimorphism mods.
Mod is not achievements compatible.
Mod is savegame compatible.
Species without gender won’t break this mod, but this mod is quite useless if your leaders don’t have a gender.
New Leader classes can only change with the "Only female/male leaders" rule

Leaders generated from events are not effected by this mod on their creation. For example, the free admiral from the "Promising Officer" event may have the wrong gender. But you can easily change the gender of this admiral by clicking the "Save" button in the mod menu again. Note that you usually have to reload your savegame to change the portraits of your current leaders.

(Note: Election candidates can be from both genders and there is no good modding solution for restricting this. However, if a candidate is elected, the mod will change the gender, if necessary, and will rename the changed leader.)

You can avoid the reloading if you dismiss or recruit a leader. This action will force the game to reload the leader portraits but rulers and heirs are not affected from this.

If you are playing on a low resolution and you can’t reach the exit button, you can collapse and uncollapse the menu by clicking the headline button.
