Description:
Are you annoyed when you meet the last remnants of an ancient alien menace, only to find that they are a race of jolly farmer snails with a flag depicting the catch of the day on a field of purest mauve?

Have you ever restarted mid-game after discovering that the ruler of a 10,000 year old precursor empire is a Blorg called Samantha?

Then this mod is for you!

This mod removes (almost) all the randomness from fallen empire generation by forcing the game to use the following themed preset empires (complete with carefully-designed flags) for each of the six categories of fallen empire:

  1. The Irqat Ancients, the intimidating Holy Guardians of four sacred worlds that lie in wild space.
  2. The Old Ones, a race of long-lived giant eyes who put the "observation" in Enigmatic Observers.
  3. The Anu Collectors, Keepers of Knowledge who integrate circuitry directly into their lithoid frames.
  4. The Enigma Matrix, robotic Ancient Caretakers whose motivations are as difficult to read as their faceless masks.
  5. The Shattered Fragments of the Krin Hive Mind, which once ravaged the ancient galaxy with its numberless legions of alien locusts.
  6. The Silent Masters, Militant Isolationists who dream of rebuilding the glory of the Vashgol Empire atop the ashes of inferior civilizations.

Awakened versions of these empires will use the standard awakened empire selection of suffixes.

The mod is uses only vanilla content from the DLC listed on the right. This also makes it universally compatible with other mods – as long as they don’t also edit the 00_fallen_empire file or the create_fe_servant_species and create_fe_servant_robots scripted effects. Note that if you don’t have the listed DLC, the game will fall back on randomly-generated fallen empires to fill any gaps.

Recommended mods

This mod will function perfectly as a standalone mod, but it has been designed to complement my Interesting Empires mod (which is available in forced-spawn and random-spawn flavors).

I always welcome feedback, so if you liked Interesting Fallen Empires – or didn’t like it, and want to leave a downvote – I’d greatly appreciate any constructive criticism that will help me improve the mod.
