Mass Relays – Hyper-Relays and L-Gate Submod
An additional sub-mod to the fantastic Mass Relay mod by Princess_Stabbity and the Team Nessassity.
What does this mod? Like its parent, it’s extremely unobtrusive and makes no changes to the common/ folder, instead overriding two things: graphics and localisation.
It alters the game by moving in two new versions of Mass Effect flair in the form of new forms of Mass Relays, both renamed and restyled forms of transit in the vanilla game.
Rather than searching out and finding L-Gates (which are just special-lore gateways so if you replaced them with Mass Relays remains a little… eh?), you instead find new Mass Relays glowing an ominous red: Mass Effect 2 veterans will be familiar with the most dangerous of all Mass Relays in the Mass Effect canon, the Omega 4 Relay. In tribute to this, these red-relays have been renamed from L-Gates to "Omega Relays."
As part of the general re-design to marry Stellaris functionality with Mass Effect flavor, the mod changes all mentions in the localisation from "L-Cluster" to the "Omega Cluster" to suit the relays being renamed. Nothing beyond the Omega Relays has been changed; you can expect the same denizens to be possibly living beyond them that you’re familiar with, unchanged other than now calling the L-Gates and L-Cluster by their new names.
Elsewhere, Paradox added the Hyper Relay system. As a much simpler change, this mod also renames and restyles Hyper Relays to Secondary Relays, smaller version of the original mods’ Mass Relays. Again, these are merely renamed and re-graphicsed Hyper Relays; nothing changes with their functionality.
This was a personal mod I made just for myself, but thought others could enjoy. With the blessing of Princess_Stabbity, I release it to the Workshop, so all can enjoy.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Requires Princess_Stabbity’s original Mass Relay mod. It needs the graphics files from that mod to work (because it’s you, know, a sub-mod, not a mod in and of itself).
2. Stellaris (obviously).
3. Overlord for Secondary Relays, Distant Stars for Omega Relays.
