FE Buildings Rework
This isn’t really a very large mod, but it has 2 major changes:
- Fallen Empire buildings have all been rebalanced/reworked, to match each other’s strengths, and to make them useful in most, if not all scenarios. For an example, see the first image.
- Arcane Deciphering now has a ‘passive’ option, granting its effects over time by spending Minor Artifacts monthly. FE buildings ""cannot"" be acquired this way anymore, with Arcane Deciphering instead granting the technologies.
In addition, the FE Clinic ("Molecular-Revitalization Institute") and the FE Assembly ("Robot Manufacturing Nexus") have both received some changes.
They still grant 2-5 of an assembler job, but now both regular empires and Machine empires have new job variants that match the strength of Spawning Drones or Roboticists. Namely, Cloning Technicians and Super-Replicators. They aren’t too interesting beyond that though.
Also on the Dimensional Replicator, in vanilla this building grants no jobs (assumedly because it would be giving too many?) and in testing i found that giving all three refiners was a bit cumbersome. Not in code, but to look at in-game.
So this building now gives its own unique job, Dimensional Refiners. These inherit all modifiers from all 3 refiner types, plus their combined base production.
Arcane Deciphering is a bit of a doozy. If you even remember to do it at all, the system is just RNG% or get nothing. This instead is reworked to a "progressive cumulative chance", a set of words i shoved together assuming it has any meaning.
Basically if you put more Minor Artifacts into it, you get more out of it over time.
There is also an added Edict that does this for you, without you having to remember to enact it every 2 years. It gives roughly the same price, for 21 artifacts every month to reach a progress of 500 (technically should be 20.833 per month but round numbers go brr.)
Once it gets to 500 progress, you get the Arcane Deciphering event – same one from the artifact action
