Create a cultist civilization that worships one of the seven Lovecraft Mythos deities: Cthulhu, Shub-Niggurath, Yog-Sothoth, Hastur, Nyarlathotep, Daoloth, and Azathoth. Unveil dreadful mysteries of the Universe – or become one of its keepers.

This mod includes:

  • 7 new civics available to Fanatic Spiritualist empires, each of which noticeably reshapes your gameplay.
  • 43 leader traits available exclusively to cultist empires. 6 leader traits available to those who challenge the followers of the Outer Gods.
  • Over a hundred new technologies.
  • 4 archaeological sites with rewards that depend on the empire’s allegiance.
  • 8 anomalies.

Requirements and Compatibility

This mod requires the Universal Modifier Patch.
The mod should be compatible with all other mods.

v1.1 Update – Sacred Knowledge, Part I

There is knowledge accessible only to the initiated. There are rituals that bend the objective reality to your liking, if done right. There are forces deemed supernatural and forbidden that can be harnessed and placed at your service.
The cults of Azathoth, Hastur, Yog-Sothoth, and Shib-Niggurath receive unique technologies specific to their civilizations for a total of about 30 technologies per cult. Some technologies are exclusive to certain ethics.
v1.11 Patch – all traits are now adapted for the 3.8 leader rework .

v1.0 Update – Mysteries and Rituals

Fixed compatibility issues with newer versions.
Revamped the cult civics. The civics for Daoloth and Cthulhu now feature unique edicts. Additionally, empires with the Azathoth civic may receive a secret edict as they progress through the game.
Added a new archaeological site and 8 anomalies.

v0.9 Update

Fixed a country modifier obtainable through the Carcosa Spires archaeological site.
Replaced a non-functioning modifier of the Shark Politician governor trait.
Removed a broken animation effect on the relic images.
Fixed the availability of the non-xenophobic option for the last chapter of the Ghastly Forest archaeological site.
Fixed the text for a custom archaeology fail event.
The update should not break your saves.
08.02 – fixed a bug that prevented non-spiritualist empries from progressing through the Carcosa Spires archaeological site. Thanks to greensniperhat for reporting the issue.
