Better AI: Artifact Management
As we all know, AI empires are more limited than player empires in many ways. In vanilla this includes the AI’s very inefficient minor artifact management. To put it bluntly, the vanilla priority system is all over the place, making AI almost always choose either arcane deciphering or selling to private collectors if the former is not researched. The goal of this mod is to introduce a more robust system that makes use of as many artifact actions as possible in a realistic manner.
Changes to minor artifact actions (AI will save up minor artifacts for the action with highest weight):
– AI will always sell to private collectors if minor artifact income is at 0 or all other artifact actions are on cooldown. AI will also resort to selling artifacts in case of energy deficit (150 weight).
– Military applications will have the next highest priority for non-pacifists during war (125 weight).
– If arcane deciphering is researched, it will be a priority for everyone (100 weight).
– Religious revelations will be a priority for spiritualists (50 weight).
– Proclaiming superiority will be a priority for fanatic xenophobes (75 weight, 25 otherwise).
– Celebrating diversity will be a priority for regular and fanatic xenophiles (75 weight if fanatic xenophile, 25 weight if xenophile, 5 otherwise).
– Peaceful applications are available to non-militarists, but have lower priority (10 weight). This is also a fallback option for gestalt empires instead of selling to private collectors.
– Actions on cooldown are no longer evaluated until the cooldown is over, meaning the lower priority ones will be used in the meantime.
