Do you think that the Environmentalist’s civic just doesn’t seem hardcore enough for your Space Elves? Want to fully embrace your inner Fish Druids?

Now you can with the Nature’s Preserver Civic.
This society deems living within means of what is provided by nature to be the greatest ideal. But nature is always under threat by those who seek to exploit it. Thus the society has charged itself to become holy guardians of the natural world of every star and planet in the galaxy. With proper care, moderation, and stewardship, these worlds can be our homes until the very stars fade away.

This civic is combines Environmentalist and Catalytic Processing civics along with all the benefits and penalties associated with the Paradise Initiative Resolution.
It also adds a -10% upkeep reduction to most facets of the game at the cost of things generally being built more slowly as well as having a significant Population Housing penalty resulting in difficulty in urbanization. It also removes the habitability bonuses to artificial planets such as habitats, relic worlds, and Ecumenoplis.
The civic also changes how most planetary blockers are dealt with. Instead of removing them, you instead “clear” them into a new blocker which provides a minor benefit.
It also adds a series of mid game goals once the Galactic Community is founded, providing you a minor benefit should you succeed in fulfilling the Nature’s Preserver’s mandates of protecting nature.

Because there are so many buffs and debuffs associated with the civic, you can’t even see the full list of restrictions during creation. So the full list of the civic’s restrictions are listed below:

  • Ethics – Gestalt Consciousness
  • Authority – Corporate
  • Species – Lithoid
  • Origin – Necrophage
  • Origin – Remnants
  • Origin – Post Apocalyptic
  • Origin – Shattered Ring
  • Origin – Void Dwellers
  • Origin – Knights of the Toxic God
  • Civic – Catalytic Processing – Subset of Nature’s Preserver
  • Civic – Environmentalist – Subset of Nature’s Preserver
  • Civic – Reanimated Armies
  • Civic – Fanatic Purifiers
  • Civic – Relentless Industrialists

And while there are no trait restrictions, can’t help but feel like it would be wrong to pick this civic without the Conservationist trait.
This civic cannot be added or removed once you started the game.

The mod also enables megacorps to take the environmentalist civic as well.

Some Ascension Perks were overridden in order to restrict them from Nature’s Preserver
Some buildings to replace Nature’s Preserver housing buildings and to grant access to ranger lodge
is_catalytic_empire scripted trigger was overridden to add Nature’s Preserver
tech_morphogenetic_field_mastery was overridden to restrict Nature’s Preserver, but they’ll get something equivalent…
