Grand US Namelist (NSC Compatible)

Original Post:
A big US Namelist I made for myself and friends and found no reason not to share it, especially since I’ve put some thought into it.
There were two guidelines I followed for creating this namelist:
1) There should be so many names on the list, that repetitions of names are really rare (so ships don’t have a latin number in their name) and I think I fulfilled this goal.
2) I took orientation off the US Navy naming conventions, but since the game with it’s ship classes orientates itself on WWII (e.g. Battleships being a serious thing) I also took orientation of older US Navy Naming Conventions. Classes, if possible and sensible, should have different names, in number also roughly orientated on how many you’re probably going to build ingame.
Where required I took some liberties.
You find examples in the screens, ignore ship class designations like "BB", they’re not part of the namelist.
The naming conventions I mixed together in short explained:
Corvettes and Destroyers:
Named after famous US Admirals, Marines and Secretaries of the Navy and WWII Submarines. Names of the ships are ranging from ones of the WWI-Era up to the modern age.
Cruisers:
Cruisers are named after Battles (like the modern day cruisers of the US Navy) and Cities and Territories like they were in the WWII era. Names of modern day US Submarines are also given to Cruiser Class Ships since they’re bigger than their WWII predecessors and share much of the naming tradition being mostly named after cities.
Also Escort Carries of WWII find their names represented in the Cruiser Class as they also have city names and names of battlesites.
Submarines carrying State names, names of former presidents or other persons aren’t represented in the cruiser class. The modern day US Navy is a little chaotic in that regard. They’re represented elsewhere, in the Battleships-Class.
Battleships:
Battleships since they have no modern equivalent follow the WWII principle of being named after US States including some possible names which were never given in reality but fall in line (e.g. Hawaii and Alaska were never given as a name to a Battleship and maybe Puerto Rico will become a state some day). Since Stellaris Battleships can also fulfill the role of the carriers they are also given the names of aircraft carriers, so presidents or other very famous american persons lend their name to Battleships.
Titans & Colossus:
Since there is no real world equivalent for these two ship classes (yet), I thought, since the bigger the ship the bigger entity is, it is named after, these real big ships should get fundamental names defining the US.
The USS Constitution might be "only" an old frigate in the real world, with this Namelist it can be a Titan or even a Colossus!
Science Ships:
I gave them either names of Rivers or Lakes or American Explorers.
Colony Ships:
These are named after events or names associated with the Expansion of the US towards the west in the ending 18th and 19th century.
Sponsored Colony Ships:
These are named after american companies (e.g. USS Facebook)
Constructor Ships:
These are named mostly after famous industry tycoons or industrial inventors.
Transport Ships:
Well, not much to choose here for the player, since you can’t change civilian ship classes anymore, but they’re named mostly after transporters or way of transportation. These names are mostly relevant for Ship Class names, since the transport ships themselves carry the names of the army they’re carrying.
Military Stations & the Ion Cannon:
They’re named after arms manufacturers.
Planets:
Each planet type has it’s own names with only a few names being shared by two planet types.
The planets are mostly named after locations in the US fitting atleast roughly the climate of the planet.
There will be no arctic planet named "New Texas" by default.
NSC-Ships:
Strike cruisers, Escort Carriers & Light Carriers:
See cruisers.
Battlecruisers & Carriers:
Got their names from Battleships.
Got their names from aircraft carriers from the WWII era and onwards.
Dreadnoughts, Super-Dreadnoughts and Colossus:
For Dreadnoughts see Battleships.
Super-Dreadnoughts and Flagships, see Titans & Colossus.
Science- & Exploration Cruisers:
Share their names with Science Ships.
Construction cruisers:
Share their names with Construction Ships.
The military stations use the same names regardless of size.
The Headquarters is just called "USSPACOM" standing for "US Space Command".
The X1-Cannon shares it’s possible names with the Ion Cannons.
Fleets:
The Naming Scheme is "Task Force X", X standing for a number in cardinal order, so it will start with Task Force 1, continue with Task Force 2 and so on.
Leader Names:
Most of them are names from the various admirals, marines and secretaries, whose names the US Navy took to name their destroyers but there are also some other names in there I found or thought of myself, e.g. the Founding Fathers.
So basically you’ll find a mix of names ranging from the infant United States up to the modern age, including some for the US foreign sounding names to simulate influence by immigration and the culture mix in the US (e.g. a few vietnamese names because of the vietnamese refugees after the End of the Vietnam war).
But the vast majority of the names are of european origin.
I even put some Regnal Names in there, if you wanna replay "The Tyranny of King Washington" in Stellaris.
There a a few eastereggs for you guys to find, have fun with that 😉
As always I’m grateful for likes, upvotes and of cause, if you find any bugs, for report about these.
I’ve playtested this list, so far as I’m aware, I found no issues with this list.
