(Patch) Acot No Yearly Pulse
Full Disclosure. I have no idea if this actually works.
I play with a lot of mods and eventually every new year brings with it about 10-30+ seconds of the game just sitting there frozen processing.
I spent a while testing in large singleplayer galaxies with no other empires and still around and after the 2250s (which was the endgame start date) i was getting the new year hang bad.
In the error file I seen that the Diplomacy yearly pulse didnt seem to be working right.
After turning off Ancient Caches of Technologies, its Sins of the Fallen Empires addon and starting a new game, the game seemed to not have such bad new year pulse lag once reaching the same time frame.
But again I have no idea if thats related or if im just tired of testing for such long periods of time on something so annoying and just placeboed myself into thinking it works lol :sweat_smile:
This mod simply turns off all of the ACOT yearly pulses.
One is an AI helper
Two are diplomatic things (one of which at least was bringing up an error for me)
Last two are options of some sort
If you use ACOT and have bad new year hangups then maybe this will help. Idk about on a save game like I said I got tired of wasting a day testing to see if the issue was mostly fixed.
I really like what ACOT adds in but I cannot stand waiting 30 seconds at the start of each new year so turning off the events was the simplest way to fix that.
And for 1 final time, this may not solve a problem at all. Fact of the matter is though that w/o ACOT and its SFE addon I wasnt getting the hangups. To me it appears to solve my problem although im no longer running SFE (but I was still getting the hangup when not running it but still running ACOT)
