Description:

Inspired by the RPG traits mod. This is my *less* invasive standalone attempt at sprucing up the traits of base Stellaris.

The goal of this mod is to allow more extreme variance between species beyond simple + or – minor percentages. In addition to the standard + or – percentage changes there are traits which significantly alter how a species can function. Often these traits can entirely block out or open up new gameplay options.

Species trait examples:

> Biologically Immortal: As it’s name implies pops are now immortal.

> Genius: An extremely expensive trait that more than doubles research speed and leader XP gain.

Gameplay trait examples:

> World Exploitationists/Preservationists: A massive 50% bonus to pop resource collection and -50% impact to station collection and vice versa.

> Living Planet: A hive mind only trait; prevents any and all colonization in exchange for an extremely powerful size 50 homeworld with higher resource collection, faster megastructure creation, and higher Starbase capacity.

> Shipwrights: Causes all ships of the species to be vastly superior but also take significantly more resources and time to build.

These are just some of many other traits. And some traits blur the lines between strictly gameplay and strictly species traits.

Currently in beta, expect bugs that need to be ironed out and even save breaking changes. Certain traits may require large overhauls as there might not be a simple fix for certain problems. I will apologize ahead of time if I break a save that uses this mod.

*NOTE: This mod does add trait points, maximum allowed traits, and a civic point. This might be spun off into a seperate mod at a later date.

**NOTE: I will take idea requests for new traits. Leave a comment behind or PM me. I might look into it if it doesn’t require a significant amount of work to implement.*

***NOTE: I won’t promise a balanced game. While I attempt to make each trait somewhat balanced onto themselves it’s extremely hard to balance them when used together when they can alter how the game plays so significantly. This mod is also balanced around a single player expierence.***
