Post Survey Discoveries
The galaxy should not go quiet just because the first science ship passed through.
In vanilla, a system is usually "done" once it has been surveyed. Post Survey Discoveries changes that. As your empire expands and keeps watching its own territory, old sensor packets, mining telemetry, orbital traffic, and colony reports can uncover things your first survey missed.
A strange signal in a system you already own. A suspicious asteroid your stations have passed a thousand times. A planet whose readings no longer match the archive.
When that happens, you get a notification, a new anomaly appears on a specific body, and a science ship can investigate it.
- 108 post-survey anomaly categories.
- New anomalies that can appear in owned, already-surveyed systems.
- A clear player notification when a late anomaly is discovered.
- An in-game settings edict to control how often discoveries happen.
- Frequency options: Disabled, Rare, Normal, Frequent, and Abundant.
- Game-year scaling for flat anomaly rewards, so late-game discoveries stay relevant.
- Rare permanent orbital deposit outcomes in the broad anomaly pool.
- In-game localisation for English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
- A safeguard against repeatedly stacking permanent resource deposits on already rich bodies.
- Lightweight monthly checks with no vanilla file overwrites.
- Keeps science ships useful after the early exploration rush.
- Makes owned space feel less static.
- Works especially well for tall empires and slower-paced campaigns.
- Adds exploration flavor without forcing a giant scripted quest chain.
- Can be added to an existing save.
Use the free Post Survey Discoveries Settings edict in-game.
- Disabled – turns off new discoveries from this mod.
- Rare – about a 1% monthly roll while eligible, with a 4-year cooldown.
- Normal – default behavior: 4% monthly roll, with a 2-year cooldown.
- Frequent – about an 8% monthly roll, with a 1-year cooldown.
- Abundant – about a 14% monthly roll, with a 6-month cooldown.
Changing the setting mid-save is safe. The new setting applies from the next monthly pulse.
- No vanilla files are overwritten.
- Should be compatible with most UI, gameplay, and anomaly mods.
- This mod uses its own anomaly pool. It does not automatically spawn anomaly categories added by other mods.
- Designed for human-controlled regular empires.
- Built for Stellaris 4.3.*.
- Safe to add to an existing save.
- Safe to continue an existing save from v1.0.0.
- Safe to change frequency during a campaign.
- Not recommended to remove mid-save if you currently have active anomalies from this mod.
- The mod does not dynamically import anomaly events from other mods.
- Like most gameplay mods, it changes the checksum.
Load order should not matter in most setups because the mod does not overwrite vanilla files.
Ratings help small Stellaris mods survive the Workshop algorithm. If the mod makes your mid-game galaxy feel a little less empty, leaving a rating helps a lot.

CHANGELOG
v1.0.2 – Settings and Localisation Fix
This update addresses direct player feedback about reward frequency control and exposed event text.
Changes:
- Added a new in-game Bonus Reward Chance submenu under the free Post Survey Discoveries Settings edict.
- Players can now set rare permanent bonus deposit outcomes to Disabled, Sparse, Normal, High, or Generous.
- Default behavior remains conservative: Normal keeps the existing ~8% bonus deposit chance.
- Fixed exposed event/localisation strings caused by incorrectly quoted event localisation keys.
- Hid internal random reward rolls and tracking variables from anomaly option tooltips.
- Updated the new setting text across all supported in-game localisation files.
- Updated mod version to 1.0.2.
- Kept supported version metadata on Stellaris 4.3.*.
Notes:
- Safe to add to an existing save.
- Safe to continue an existing save from v1.0.0 or v1.0.1.
- Existing active anomalies should continue normally.
v1.0.1 – Reward Balance Update
This update focuses on late-game reward balance after player feedback.
Changes since the initial Workshop release:
- Added game-year scaling to flat anomaly rewards.
- Late-game discoveries are no longer stuck at early-game values like 60-120 research.
- Added rare permanent orbital deposit outcomes to the broad generated anomaly pool.
- Deposit rewards respect the existing anti-stacking safeguard, so already rich bodies should not be inflated endlessly.
- Kept early-game rewards conservative to avoid turning Frequent or Abundant discovery settings into free tech/resource spam.
- Updated mod version to 1.0.1.
- Updated supported version metadata for Stellaris 4.3.*.
Notes:
- Safe to add to an existing save.
- Safe to continue an existing save from v1.0.0.
- Existing active anomalies should continue normally.
