Activation

  • ensure the rquired mods are enabled
  • when creating/editing a species, select to United federation of planets shipset

Information

This mod contains no models on its own, the ones that are in the files, are just empty meshes with only locators.

This mod uses the new feature added in 4.0 to add additional ship class progression independant of the vanilla ship classes, this adresses the federation fleet, from the ENT era to the and of the TNG era, each ship class is its own size scaled at about a 5 to one ratio (one T1 federation corvette should be equal to 5 vanilla corvette) and in an attempt to make most of the loadouts for the ships lore accurate i have made a modified component list,

based on my weapon and component mod, but i have diverged from the standard stellaris comonent size for weapons, instead of size determining the dmage, it determines the type, small and titanic being phasers, medium and extra-large being pulse phasers, and large and guided being torpedoes, as a result starbases and space citadels are also much stronger.

Reactor comonents have been removed, the techs realted them now are required to unlock the next FTL component

FTL components have been altered, they now have nect to no windup and windown, but take drastically longer to travel through the hyperlanes, they initally are slower than standard FTL but end up much faster.

sensors remain the same as vanilla

thrusters are the same, but give a base speed boost in combat

ship behaviours are split into 3 types,
agressive: either circles the target at close range or strafes the target, this depends on ship class
support: circles the target at medium range
cautious: will try to maintain distance at its longest weapon range

new component: ship Class: this is currently used to modify the damage output to roughly match the damage output of 5x vanilla ships, my other idea is for this to modify how much naval cap the ship use to match the same value,

Weapon comonents are all sacled as Large weapons except for guided

defensive components are 5X stronger to save on component clutter, as a result starbases and space citadels are also much stronger.

  • Unique tech tree with weapons, ships, and comonents
  • Custom ship classes based on their wiki articles,
  • A Tier system depending on ship Class, and TMP T1 destroyer wil be about 20% stronger than a ENT destroyer

Planned Features

  • incorporate other ship set mods to extend the roster
  • use the "Ship Growth" system to do the refits

Current issues

  • defence platforms are incredibly unbalanced outside of PD, Large, guided and hangar sections.
