The Perseids are a highly advance humanoid race native to Ugroth. They were conquered by the Vedran Empire and became slaves. They tried to revolt several times but were ultimately crushed by the High Guard. After the transformation from empire to commonwealth, Perseids had become highly valued members and were seen in mostly
all levels of society. The Collapse forced many Perseids back to their home territories including their overcrowded and long abandoned homeworld. This "Great Ingathering" made the collapse even worst on many worlds who no longer had capable administrators to guide them. After the Long Night, Many Perseids worlds gradually reconnected with the rest of the galaxies and sought to expand their influence across the stars. The Perseids are guided by an science directorate, a meritocracy where leaders are chosen by their level of intellect. On worlds governed by Perseids, they are ran efficiently and many are prosperous. A trait the New Commonwealth is seeking to reintroduced to the wider galaxies.
