Balanced Political Power Plus
On top of doing everything that Balanced Political Power does, Balanced Political Power Plus also makes the amount of trade value & happiness pops receive from a living standard directly proportional to the consumer goods upkeep from said living standard.
The formula I used to create these new statistics: For every 0.05 consumer goods upkeep, 0.03334 trade value is received.
The formula I used to create these new statistics: At a consumer goods upkeep of 0.25, pops receive no happiness modifier. For every 0.05 upkeep less than 0.25, pops receive -8% happiness. For every 0.05 upkeep more than 0.25, pops receive +2% happiness.
3 cases were not increments of 5, which was unsatisfying, so I rounded them to the closest 5; Workers on basic subsistence rounded to -30% from -32%. Workers on stratified economy rounded to -25% from -24%. All pops on shared burden rounded to 5% from 6%.
Exceptions to the rule
Chemical bliss living standards: To compensate for the huge −60% pop resource output, a +30% happiness modifier applies on top of the formula.
Academic privilege living standards: To compensate for the +10% pop research output, a -5% happiness modifier applies on top of the formula (only for rulers & specialists, since they are the only ones who can benefit from the research boost). Note, this still leaves them with more happiness than unmodified Stellaris.
Slaves: Slave happiness is primarily controlled by slavery type instead of living standards, with the standard slavery type causing -30% happiness. Considering this, I’ve made them their own formula; At a consumer goods upkeep of 0.05, slaves receive no happiness modifier. For every 0.05 upkeep less than 0.05, slaves receive -10% happiness. For every 0.05 upkeep more than 0.05, slaves receive +10% happiness. Coincidentally, this leaves them with the same values as unmodified Stellaris.
On top of editing the 1 English localisation line that Balanced Political Power edits, Balanced Political Power Plus also edits an additional 9 English localisation lines. They update in game living standard tooltips, making them correctly display the new happiness modifiers of this mod.
