Better AI: Everyone Gets Precursors
As we all know, AI empires are more limited than player empires in many ways. This time I am going to address one of the biggest elephants in the room: precursors. Precursor empire event chains offer a wide range of bonuses such as powerful relics, buildings and systems. However, they are disabled for AI empires in vanilla, meaning only players can start such event chains. This mod removes most limitations, allowing AI to participate in the race. All required features already exist in vanilla, the mod simply makes them treat AI empires as players.
Changes:
– AI empires are now able to receive and begin precursor event chains.
– AI empires are now able to discover signs of precursor activity and precursor archaeological sites.
– AI empires are now able to find precursor homeworlds, getting appropriate bonuses such as unity and relics.
– AI empires are now able to delve into secrets of precursors and will prioritize doing so if possible.
– Fanatic xenophile, memorialist and gestalt AI empires will prioritize spending minor artifacts on precursor clues as long as they have positive minor artifact income.
– AI empires will start getting additional clues through events once 50 in-game years pass (same as players).
Just like in multiplayer, all precursors except Baol and Zroni may be assigned to multiple empires at the same time and the winner of the race reaps all rewards. However, AI empires will handle things relatively slowly, so it should take at least 50-60 years for early birds to discover precursor homeworlds and even longer on average.
This mod is incompatible with projects that alter precursors as well, but otherwise should be fine as long as item names in files from "common/anomalies" and "events" folders do not intersect.
