Start on a hive world around an ancient progenitor world. This progenitor gives bonuses to planets within a certain distance. The range and bonuses of this effect can be increased by researching several unique technologies.

Highly recommend also playing with planetary diversity as the vanilla hive world looks….. bad. Screenshots above are taken with PD enabled.
