About Aesthetic Cinematic Graphics (ACG) => PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION

Anybody of you knows the trailer of Stellaris Apocalypse? That’s actually how i imagined and wanted Stellaris Gameplay to look and feel. Unfortunately for me the graphical in-Game experience of Stellaris deviated a lot from the video.

Ships were moving too fast during Battles. The Spacing of Ships wasn’t immersive. Battles lasted only a few seconds. Ships, station and system scaling was not immersive at all. The camera zooming experience was also not as i would have liked it to be. The scaling, types and colors of many weapons and strike craft often didn’t fit my taste for immersion or needed rework to provide a better visual experience. The amount of projectiles shown in battle didn’t feel accurate. The long laser beams often looked terrible and there were way too many to feel special. The ship-disengagement chance in battles often felt broken and more…

Fortunately there were many mods out there that already provided solutions for some of the issues i mentioned above. But many of those mods
1. didn’t fit my taste 100 %
2. weren’t compatible with each other when i used them all together
3. just couldn’t be used in conjunction with my own adjustments
4. caused other inconsistencies as consequences of their changes

So i have built my own graphical overhaul project for personal use only. But after having benefited for such a long time from the modding community i thought it’s time to give back by sharing it. Luckily many of the greatest mod authors already gave me their permission to include the necessary assets to create this overhaul project.

1. this mod combines a lot of assets from other great mods with
2. my own creations and reworks of those assets
3. it is by no means my work alone
4. I just wanted to share with you how i like to play stellaris and hope some of you will enjoy it too

4 New & replaced strike craft weapon graphics (more like auto cannons)
Removed ship trails
– Increased the amount of projectiles you see during battles
– Longer Space Battles
(reduced damage of ships)
Adjusted certain ship & strike craft stats (for balancing & visual improvement)
Reworked range of ships, weapons and strike craft
– Reworked ship/combat behavior
– Reworked formation spacing & height of ships & strike craft
– Reworked space combat mechanisms
(incl. adjustments to ship disengagement chance)
Other visual improvements (incl. cleaner system view)
Reduced speed of ships slightly (by up ~25% to feel more realistic with downscaled ships)
Reduced jump drive cooldown (to 90 days to compensate for slower fleet movement in late game)
Reduced negative impacts of using jump drive (to make it better useable in late game)

I highly recommend to use this mod together with ACG:
Kaityo’s Slow Speed Battle mod

Tip: Want to see a real cinematic battle?

1. subscribe & activate to previously mentioned Kaityo’s mod as well as ACG (and maybe some other recommended mods, see list below BUT DON’T activate other graphical space battle mods)
2. go to edicts => set Slow Speed Battle Speed reduction to 0,3-0,5
3. sit back and enjoy a visually cinematic combat experience (Tip2: i also often reduce game speed during battles to "slow")

What about potential FPS Performance losses?

I tried to reduce potential FPS performance losses. Nonetheless this mod will still need a decent hardware setup.
