Description:

Complimentary to my Primitive Robots mod, introducing: Primitive Hive Minds.

WARNING: Mod requires Utopia DLC. Without it, it will do nothing.

SECOND WARNING: Triggers within base game remain unreliable. Although events do seem to sometimes work, sometimes they don’t. Missions are carried out fine, however.

On galaxy generation this mod will seed the galaxy with systems that contain primitive hive mind civilizations. They are less likely to spawn than regular primitives and their number is capped. Additionally, a special Sol can spawn, if no other is present. Hive minds can exist in 3 stages: Id, Ego and Superego. They will progress naturally through those and eventually become a regular country.

Hive minds also has a special valuable building called "Spawning pool" that gets depleted as it matures and will likely be destroyed if invaded.

When surveyed, they will be added to your "Other" contacts. Like with regular primitives, you can build an observation outpost over their world and carry out following missions:

  • Observation – currently I don’t see any ethical differences between passive and agressive observation of hive mind, so I left only agressive observation in. With possible future expansion, I might re-introduce passive observation as a safe mode.
  • Enlighten – you can enlighten Ego and Superego hives (Id is too bestial) to become your vassals
  • Subdue – Hive Minds can simply subdue the primitive hive mind, taking over its planet and its drones. Don’t forget to set the species rights.
  • Break Apart – Non-hives can turn the hive-mind pre-sapient. Those who mastered biological ascension, will instead turn them indivuals and take over the planet

COMPATIABILITY:
This mod overwrites vanilla observation missions to hide them. If another mod overwrites this file too, you might start seeing missions you are not meant to see. Alternatively, a mod that introduce different country types for primitives might result in missing missions.

Mod is fully compatiable with Primitive Robots.
