I couldn’t find any mods that rebalanced warscore multipliers, and I think we can all agree that the way things are setup in the base game is ♥♥♥♥ing idiotic, so I made one!

Ever wonder why anyone gives a ♥♥♥♥ about capturing planets when you could just glass them from orbit? Well you still can’t do that without other mods, but now fleet battles are much more important.

Hopefully when you completely obliterate the enemy’s navy and they are utterly defeated despite their planets being untouched, you’ll often be sitting at a decent level of warscore so you don’t have to go through all that hassle of sending troops to every single planet they own.

Relative naval strength also matters a LOT more in peace demands, so the filthy zeno scum will be more likely to realize that if they don’t knuckle under you might glass their planets on general principle. Hopefully this will make incredibly one-sided wars less of a hassle.

I’m still tweaking the numbers, so let me know if you encounter any wacky issues there.

In addition, I’ve removed the influence penalty for refusing peace offers. I mean really, what dumbass thought that one up?

I’ve also lowered the amount of warscore required to make demands to 10, reduced the duration required for length of war penalties to swap to bonuses by almost half, reduced the penalties of major wars, and reduced the warscore gain for capturing the planets of subjects.

I’m pretty ♥♥♥♥ing fed up with stellaris’ assinine warscore mechanics that make having huge negative warscore in a war you are winning, or even being forced to surrender with concessions in wars you are winning an all too common occurance.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to mod away every finnicky problem with this system, but I hope to improve things.

This description is more of a rant than a description tbh because I’m pretty♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥off that making this mod was a virtual necessity for a core mechanic to be not total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Important notes:

-Fleet battles matter more, and have a minimum warscore of 1. This means you can’t send in ♥♥♥♥♥♥ distraction frigates without getting boned, and really need to be careful about losing transport fleets. I may tweak this number as it might cause the idiot AI to auto lose since it loves to send in tiny fleets for no reason.

-Value of subjects towards warscore is massively decreased (to something like 1/3rd of previous). Mainly because it becomes all too easy later on to lose wars almost instantly as your stone age peasant tributary gets bulldozed. As a result, you the player will also need to focus on the primary nation involved in the war, and will gain little from their subjects.

This mod should be compatible with all mods that do not alter warscore multipliers and peace demand settings.

Things that say, add more war demand options, or alter their values, should be compatible. I wouldn’t recommend using this with any mods that decrease the warscore cost of war demands, however.
