Description:

Based on the game "NieR:Automata"

Updated for 2.0.* Any future updates should be automatically supported, but if anything breaks let me know and I’ll update the mod.

Changes:

1.9.*:

Vast improvements
Now functions correctly using a Machine Empire. Please note that this name list is aimed towards playing a Machine Empire. Although it works for an Organic Empire, for now the ground units will have default names instead of my flavour if that is chosen (due to a difference in unit types) I’m working on restoring that functionality. Machine Empires require the Synthetic Dawn DLC.

I’ve spent a long time on making this namelist as accurate as possible to the world of NieR, as such at is considered ‘Lore Friendly’ to that game, although I have taken the occasional artistic liberty in areas where there was a lack of information, I’ve explained exactly what I’ve implemented and why in more detail below.

Detailed Description:

Ground Units:

With the introduction of Synthetic Dawn, this namelist is now far more accurate, with ground infantry progressing from a defence army of resistance fighters, to YoRHa Type Defenders and the assault armies from YoRHa Type Attacker prototypes to YoRHa Type Battlers and finally employing the use of the Ho229 Flight Unit. In addition, some armies possess the chance to be uniquely named after characters from the lore. For example, building a Type B army may build 2B, or building a Type A army may build A2, or a resistance army may build Anemone. there are many more characters and examples, sourced from both the game and elsewhere such as the stage play and novels.

Space Units:

Space units were more difficult to name considering the lack of units presented in the lore. However upon reading certain intel files in-game, logs exist of transport vessels named ‘Unit xxx’ where xxx is a three digit number. As a result, smaller ships are named after this formula (Science/Transport/Construction etc). Ships classes are named as ‘Type xx (ship) so a science ship might be called ‘Unit 214’, a Type 25 Science ship. Or the Carrier Battleship ‘Blue Ridge II’, a type 03 Carrier Battleship.
Larger vessels such as warships are named from the human namelist currently (Subject to expansion) as the existance of Carrier Blue Ridge II in-game implies that ships are named in much the same way we do today with our own ships.

Orbital Stations are currently under testing. It seems that you can’t rename stations except military defence platforms, and the game defaults the naming to ship class types, therefore it will be called a ‘Type xx Defence Platform’

Leaders:

The Ruler of the faction is always called White by default (Commander White being the Commander’s full name). Each Leader is called YoRHa No.xx from 01 to 99. This is accurate to lore, as the numbers signify model number, whereas the following ‘Type’ letter, eg B,D,S denotes the role. For example, In-game it is shown that certain characters can switch type. As thus, the role of ‘Researcher’, ‘Admiral’ etc becomes the leader’s ‘type’.

Planets:

Androids being based off of Humans, the namelist should either keep the planet name unchanged, or name the planet human names. Currently, this is under testing and subject to change.

Guidance in making a YoRHa Empire:

First of all I strongly reccomend downloading this mod: Nier:Automata YoRHa (Synthetic Dawn) Race or Nier:Automata YoRHa (Organic) Race if you play without DLC.

Ruler should be Title: Commander Name: White
Race should be Android, Androids plural
Empire name should be YoRHa
Prefix should be YoRHa
Starting planet should be Earth, Continental. Star should be Sol. Starting system should be Sol
Government can be Gestalt Conciousness, Machine Empire w/ Warbots and Factory Overclocking for best results. Up to you.
Traits can be Enhanced Memory, Emotion Emulators and Luxurious for best results. Up to you.
If going Organic, I personally recommend Militarist Fanatic Xenohphone, Imperial. Strong, Enduring, Resillient, Repugnant. Nationalistic Zeal, Efficient Bureaucracy. This makes YoRHa extremely good at expansion and defence.
Advisor: I tend to pick ‘The Solider’ as I feel it fits the theme best. Militarist also works.
Ship Type: Mammalian, although Humanoid could work if you take salvaged alien technology into account.
FTL: I tend to go for hyperspace, but any method works
Starting Weapons: All 3 starting weapons are applicable as YoRHa possess all 3 (Getting nuclear weapons and missiles in-game, using lasers and projectiles both)

Additionally, I use This music mod for additional immersion, it seems to have the widest and best selection that I’ve seen.

Closing Notes:

Any feedback and criticism you can give is appreciated, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
Note: I’ve been asked about my repeating title, this is because of the way steam searching works. In a nutshell: it sucks and it’d be nice if people could actually find my mod.

For the Glory of Mankind!
