Description:

Attention: This mod was very quickly ported to 2.0.2. I have not had time for extensive testing (or testing at all, for that matter.) This is NOT the overhaul update that was promised, but it *should* let the mod work with the current version of the game. It should also probably work with 1.9 still.

This mod contains a complete (yet optional!) overhaul of the Pre-Space Civilisation feature.

Features:

New Ascension Perk: Psychohistory

Unlocks the Native Preservation Generator. Building one of these will protect the natives from invasion, occupation and hostile colonisation, but will open up a variety of interesting features.

New Megastructure: Native Preservation Generator

Allows advanced interaction with pre-space civilizations. Permit, deny or even accelerate their advancement, affect their ethics, construct the monolith, encounter several new primitive stages. Many ethics-specific options to choose from! To interact with the shielded species, make sure they are in your territory, and open contact by clicking on their flag or through the contacts menu.

New Events!

Encounter a wide variety of events associated with native interference (if a preservation is present). Watch them acquire robotic technology, syncretic species, and interfere with them every step of the way, assuming your policies allow it!

Capture Other Species!

Ever wanted to steal your neighbour’s population and make a museum out of them? You now can with the ‘Preserve Species’ war demand. They might not be too happy with this, but they will eventually regress to the stone age, yielding fantastic opportunities for study. For this war goal to be valid, you must construct a species preserve around an empty, habitable planet, which will be filled with their species once you have enforced the demand.

Please note: as with all modifications, unexpected issues may occur. If they do, please leave a comment below, and we’ll address them as soon as possible.

Incompatibilities:

There should be no game-breaking incompatibility issues. Any mods that alter the scale of the base-game observation station will yield an unusually large station orbiting the shielded world.
