Description:

Or "what do you mean my 150 pop ecumenopolis takes just as long to give birth to one pop as five people on an iceberg somewhere?"

Exponential population growth, proportional to habitability and existing size of population. Made this because linear population growth was breaking my immersion.

In order to pull it off, this mod sets base_growth to a very low number (0.16), and adds -100% to pop_growth_speed_reduction for every pop on a planet. This has some warts (eg robots cause your biopops to reproduce faster), but I’m fixing them over time.

Worth noting that this makes tall play vastly more viable (modulo gamey strategies like colonize -> resettle loops), as your single planet with 150 pops will grow just as quickly as an empire with 5 planets of 30 pops each. In my testing so far pop growth never outpaces your ability to make buildings that provide jobs as long as you’re fairly vigilant about it and don’t let your economy crash too far.
