Description:

Latest update – 2.3

IMPORTANT: This mod doesn’t include graphical assets now and all assets are put to another mod for purely assets without configs. Please subscribe that other mod in order to use the assets with this mod.

This is done in order to make it easier to make non-achievement-compatible mods in the future, by calling the same graphical asset mod.

– All portraits are ANIMATED
– DOES NOT MODIFY CHECKSUM. IRONMAN AND ACHIEVEMENTS ARE COMPATIBLE!

26 Prescripted Empires
– System Alliance – with Alliance Clothing
– Cerberus – Human portraits with Illusive Eyes, with Cerberus Clothing
– Asari Republics – Asari may also wear Alliance outfit if joined them.
– Turian Hierarchy
– Salarian Union
– Migrant Fleet – Life-Seeded
– Clan Urdnot
– Illuminated Primacy – Syncretic Evolution. Drells wear Human Outfits, and therefore Alliance or Cerberus outfits if joined them.
– Vol Protectorate – May turn into Biotic Gods.
– Courts of Dekuuna
– Batarian Hegemony – Batarians wear Human Outfits, and therefore Alliance or Cerberus outfits if joined them.
– Void Devils
– Remnants of Rakhana – Fanatical Purifiers, a country of alternate history, as if the Drells have survived the destruction of Rakhana, and are now scornful to the Galaxy.
– Yahg Dominion – Inward Perfectionist. They have chosen isolation for a reason.
– Angaran Resistance
– Exaltation to Greatness – Kett, Fanatical Purifiers
– Harbinger of Ascendance – Devouring Swarm
– Children of Harmony – Rachni
– Old Growth of Thorian – Green Asari as Ruler and Leaders, Thorian Creepers as Pops.
– Geth Consensus – Rogue Servitors. Special Portrait for Legion.
– Sovereignty of Nazara – Driven Assimilator. Assimilated Humans will turn into Husks.
– Mx7552-4A Obedience Processor – LOKI Mechs
– Omega – MegaCorp of Asari.
– Cerberus – MegaCorp. Alternative for players who own MegaCorp.
– Vol Protectorate – MegaCorp. Alternative for players who own MegaCorp.

Features:
– Mass Effect Species are "latched" into the vanilla portraits. The host portraits work as if unchanged unless being triggered by the correct Species Name, and then the Mass Effect Portraits will take its place.
– 24 Prescripted Empires
– Alliance and Cerberus outfits
– Illusive Eyes for Cerberus Leaders
– Husks for Geth Heretics
– Biotic Gods for Psionic Volus (or Substance Abuser)
– Mass Effect Flags

Requirements:
– Utopia for Collectors, Rachni, Thorian Creepers, Hanar, Drells and Cerberus.
– Apocalypse for Quarians and Vorcha.
– Synthetic Dawn for Geth and LOKI Mechs.
– Anniversary Portrait Pack (Free) for Turians.
– MegaCorp for 3 extra Prescripted Empires.
– (But even if you don’t have the above DLC, you may craft your own versions by yourselves.)

Usage notes:
– If you want your whole Galaxy to spawn all Mass Effect Empires, go to each Prescript Empire and Save a copy. Set it to Force Spawn and start your game with at least 19 AI Empires (20 for MegaCorp owners, and should disable the original Cerberus)
– If you play Gene-modding, do not change the Species name. It breaks the magic. (Also, don’t change Species name at game start)
– If you play Gene-modding, the new Template will have a default Portrait when it has no Pops. After applying to the Pops, the completed Gene-Template WILL HAVE the Mass Effect Portrait, given the name has not been changed.
– If you want to use this mod in conjunction to other Mass Effect Mods, you will need some customisation on your own, as this mod’s main focus is to be Achievement Compatible, and therefore has quite a lot of overwrites and thus generally not perfectly compatible with other Mass Effect Mods. They may work together in some degrees but I have not tested.
– Feel free to use existing resources to create new Empires of your designs. I only update the prescripts and should not interfere with how you design new Empires.
– Empires saved out of Systems Alliance, Cerberus and both Geth Empires have corresponding "gameplay flags". In short, some portrait changes check for these gameplay flags. So you may experiment with them.

Known issues
– When Gene-modding a Mass Effect Species, after Creating a new Template, the new Portrait will be defaulted back to its original look. But after applying said Template, both Portraits in the Species list and in your Pops will come back to look like Mass Effect Species.
– If you Gene-mod a Mass Effect Species and change their name, the new Portraits will be defaulted back to their original look, unless the new name follows certain conventions (Neo-[species], Post-[species], Super-[species], Ultra-[species], Meta-[species], Trans-[species], High [species], [species] Superior, [species] Variatus, [species] Mutatis, [species] Clarus or [species] Illustratum).
– If your species has a Portrait change due to the events in Worm-in-Waiting, you may have a different Mass Effect Portrait displayed at the Load Game screen. But it should become normal again after loading the game.
– There will be some problems with half-species. Please consider this issue unsupported.

Change Notes are now shown in the tab of Change Notes.

Acknowledgement
– The assets of Asari, Salarians, Turians, Quarians and Geth (except Legion), and their corresponding outfits, and the outfits for Systems Alliance and Cerberus, are all taken from VJ’s Mass Effect mod at https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=835974518
– The majority of the flags are taken from SoG-Geongeon’s flag mod at https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=686834026
– Other portraits and flags are handcrafted by me using materials found online or in the game of Mass Effect 2, including
— Portraits of Batarians, Drells, Volus, Elcors, Krogan, Vorcha, Hanar, Collectors, Husks, Rachni, LOKI Mechs and Geth Legion.
— Portrait of Geth Legion has been made using the Geth asset as the base
— Flags of Batarians, Collectors, Drells, Geth Consensus, Hanar and Rachni
– Animations are Vanilla animations from Stellaris
