This mod has been integrated into Ancient Cache of Technologies, if you have ACOT, you don’t need this one

Introduction

Ever wonder why must we always have to steal Dark Matter Techs from those stupid relics who spent years doing noting but afk Fallen Empires? Are our scientists really that terrible that we can’t somehow come up with the knowledge on our own? Why can’t we just ask the Curators, those guys surely most know something about it.

This mod allows your empire to develop Dark Matter Power on your own, through a long chain of events and multiple researches that may take multiple years. You may summon a science convention and have everyone debate until someone gets it right, hire a smuggler to steal stuffs for you or pay the Curators to do it for you.

And then, you must carefully select the brighest amongst your scientists to relentlessly search for the right answer to each obstacle that prevents your empire from clamiming what is rightfully yours.

Features

  • A chain of events that allow your empire to learn the existence and possibility of harnessing Dark Matter Power.
  • Three new technologies to research, all will aid you in the quest to obtain the ultimate power. You must understand how to extract it, how to contain it and finally how to use it.
  • Some new event sounds associated with the new events.
  • If you manage to learn Dark Matter Power through other means first, all techs associated with this mod will be researched for free!
  • Does not overwrite any vanilla files.

Future Plans

Probably more ways to acquire the knowledge of the Dark Matter Power in the first event.

Known Issues and Limitations

  • This is a long series of events. If you have mods that add components that surpass DM-tier stuffs, you may find Dark Matter Power less rewarding.
  • I am turning from a tech that is literally impossible to research conventionally into one that is possible, so do not expect this task to be a cake-walk. This will be a hard journey.
  • I am not English Native, some localisation texts may be weird or incorrect. Feel free to point them out and I will correct or change them.
  • The smuggler talks to you in a creepy English voice. If you prefer the game to never mention English voices then I am terribly sorry for breaking the immersion. Just pick other options lol.
  • Due to the complications in researching it, don’t expect the AI to be able to get them anytime soon without some luck elements.

Save and Mod Compatibility

  • Should work fine on existing saves.
  • Doesn’t overwrite any vanilla files.

– Some of the sounds used in the new events are (again lol) from Stellaris and Starcraft 2. With the exception of the Smuggler one which I recorded it myself.

NOTE: No scientists were harmed in the creation of this mod. We only suffered few resonance cascades and system-wide explosions while developing Dark Matter.

NOTE2: This mod adds only three new techs, Dark Matter Power Generation/Containment/Application. Any other techs you see in the screenshots are from other mods such as Extra Ship Components or Zenith of the Fallen Empire!
