Fast Modes

This mod adds a new policy that allows users to speed up the game. The player can choose a policy setting after which the AI will get access to the same policy and enable it as well. The chosen policy will provide all countries with resource production bonuses depending on the one chosen by the player. The lower policy settings provide bonuses equal to those given in Vanilla when choosing the difficulty level.

These modifiers increase the base resources gained through the whole empire on a monthly basis. Limited to the following resources: food, minerals, energy, research, unity and naval capacity. All of these bonuses are also supplied for the AI when choosing higher difficulty at the game start. The main difference is that the player will also receive the bonus and can change it during the game.

The AI will only choose policies that the player has choosen allowing you to speed up a game temporarily by activating the policy of your choice. It might take a few days for the AI to decide to switch policies if you decide to change them. Probably at the first of the next month.

Developed for mod testing purposes but also useful to speed up a game (temporarily). Works with both the human_ai and observe commands allowing for fast automated testing. Enable the edict in your starting country and use either of the commands.

Settings

If the modifiers applied are identical to those applied to the AI countries when choosing the difficulty level in the Vanilla game this is mentioned.

  • Fast Mode 1: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +25%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +15%
    This is identical to Captain.
  • Fast Mode 2: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +50%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +30%
    This is identical to Commodore.
  • Fast Mode 3: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +75%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +45%
    This is identical to Admiral.
  • Fast Mode 4: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +100%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +60%
    This is identical to Grand Admiral.
  • Fast Mode 5: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +125%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +75%
  • Fast Mode 6: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +150%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +90%
  • Fast Mode 7: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +175%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +105%
  • Fast Mode 8: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +200%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +120%
  • Fast Mode 9: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +225%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +135%
  • Fast Mode 10: Food, Minerals, Energy are increased by +250%
    Research, Unity and Naval Capacity are increased by +150%

Notes

Compatible with all other mods as it only adds a new policy that provides country modifiers.

Works with existing savegames.

Has (bad) localisation for portuguese, english, french, german, polish, russian and spanish.
