Stellaris version supported: v2.1.*

Military Ships Extended

Introduces 9 new military ship types that compliment the existing Vanilla ships. There are 7 new ship sizes available to everyone as well as 2 more powerful variants of the Titan available for those with the Apocalypse DLC.

This mod also makes several changes to the visual effects. Zooming has been changed to provide more freedom. The graphic effect limits and the system space have been increased 2.5x times and this will impact the way the game is experienced. To make room for the much larger ships this had the best result. It will feel like you’re playing with small fleets of small ships in a big universe. Even if you have a five section God class vessel which is at least twice as powerful as a Titan.

All the combat oriented military ships, including the Vanilla ones, have new and rebalanced section templates. Most sections will have 6 section templates to choose from. These will include a whole variety of tactical options as well as some which are ship specific. Carriers and Supercarriers will always have strike craft on board. Escorts are usually geared more towards point-defense. Dreadnoughts often come with 2 extra large weapons.

For the AI, the fleet composition has been changed to include the new ships, form more balanced fleets and is based on fleet capacity rather than the amount of ships.

Upkeepfor the ships is reduced considerably to allow countries to be able to support the new ships. Otherwise, some of them are just too expensive and you’ll never have to face one during your game. Basic maintenance costs have been reduced and 5 new society technologies that reduce ship upkeep are introduced.

Compatibility

Any mod that adds new shipsets for default countries will not work for the new ship sizes without a compatibility patch. Mostly compatible with mods that add components but the new ships will not have access to any added perdition weapons, reactors, thrusters or combat computers without a compability patch.

Notes
  • Not compatible with existing Vanilla saves. Savegames will not revert properly to Vanilla if this mod is disabled.
  • Overwrites several Vanilla files that can cause compability issues with a lot of mods that also do this. This particulary refers to the default country type templates and the vanilla default country ship sizes.
  • Does not include any new models but will instead show enlarged or composite versions of existing models, or make use of models that are available but not appear in the Vanilla game.
  • Does not include any components that are not required by the ships to work properly.
  • Supports both the Plantoid and Humanoid Species Packs.
  • Modifies the size of ringworlds to compensate for the increased space.
  • Reboot for Stellaris 2.0 of Novio Magnum 3 because many elements of the previous version have been integrated in the Vanilla game or have become obsolete.
  • The fleet spacing is actually the same as in the Vanilla game. It’s the space itself that has increased!
  • Might have an impact on the performance of your game.
  • Provides name lists for Starbase Defenses Extended 2, Automated trade, Pirate Ships Extended and Fallen Empire Military Ships & Stations because it’s actually my main mod. These may throw harmless errors when not used with all of those mods.
